Deputy Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee Weizhong WANG,?Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Xi WANG, President of the Chinese?Society?for?Technical?and?Vocational?Education?Xin LU, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee Xiaopei YAN, Shenzhen Mayor Rugui CHEN and other senior leaders of the government attended the celebration.

He said that in the past ten years, SUSTech has gone from scratch and has become a vivid example of Shenzhen’s historic leap forward and a wonderful miracle of Shenzhen.
Xi WANG expressed that it is necessary to improve the quality of higher education and cultivate more high-quality talents for the development of the Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen. He hoped that SUSTech would further improve the quality of teaching, and make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of higher education in Guangdong and even the whole country. Guangdong will also give more support to SUSTech.
President of the University of Science and Technology of China Xinhe BAO delivered a speech. On behalf of all the universities, he congratulated SUSTech and hoped that it becomes a world-class research university as soon as possible and make new and greater contributions to the nation.
President Qikun XUE said that SUSTech would always bear in mind the historical mission of building Chinese universities in the new era and make more contributions to the city and the nation.
Representatives of 105 universities attended the celebration. Presidents of Oxford University and the National University of Singapore also sent videos of congratulations.
